We are now the proud owners of a lovely Adria Adora and I am delighted with it.
I am sure this is a really basic question but I just wanted to know if you have any top tips on cleaning the inside surfaces (floors, walls, toilet, bathroom, windows etc). The main thing I want to know is there anything that I should NOT use that could cause damage?
I see that there are a lot of "special" cleaners on the market specifically for various jobs but don't want to end up with a crazy amount of unnecessary stuff. When we camped I used anti-bacterial wipes for general wiping down of stuff. Is that OK in a caravan?
Also, the outside of the van has GRP sides. What sort of cleaner works best on GRP?
Inside the wife uses things for the home except BLEACH down the plug holes it rots the plastic pipes after time..Inside of windows get done with a chamois cloth.
Fenicks caravan cleaner for us at the start of the year then polished up with showroom shine which keeps it clean the rest of the year as its a waterless cleaner/polish.
Wipes are fine but dont use on the windows as they might contain chemicals which will burn the plastic.

Hi alot of people on here will swear by proprietary produ ts such as fenwicks etc, however most cleaners are all the same with the basic ingrdients, and the price increased when the word caravan is mentioned, however bleach is a definite No No.
We have an Adria also and from new in 2008 it has been washed with Turtlewax car shampoo, and then polished with a cheap shops own furniture polish, and we have never had any problems, it smell nice and remains relatively clean, with a simple quick wash to remove flies and exhaust debris from the front when pitched.
For the interior simple cheap baby wipes or similar over the cupboards whilst kitchen wipes on the cooker and sink. Windows are washed / wiped with warm water and a chamois leather.
Laminate floor is cleaned with hoover and then wiped over with laminate floor wipes.
Toilet is wiped over with loo wipes etc.
Hope this helps without causing to many arguments.
Inside I use pledge spray polish the toilet and sink cif the benches bacterial wipes, and the husband uses aldi caravan cleaner but has just bought some showroom shine never used it yet as the weather hasn't been too kind. Happy caravanning
We have just had Garry Hinchcliffe from Fylde Caravan Cleaning (www.fyldecaravancleaning.co.uk) to hand wash and hand polish our van, and he spent 4hrs doing so. The result is it looks fantastic. I fully recommend his services.
We also have polyester outside walls, we always use silky cleaner as found this is the best at removing road grime and black marks. Tried Fenwick black streak remover and it did not work on ours, silky does not damage plastics and cleans so much better and easier than just using car/caravan cleaner. Still using our first pot of silky 6 years later and probably enough in pot to last 10 years, it is also relatively cheap to buy.
For inside I just use diluted washing up liquid for surfaces and use dettol antibacterial wipes for the toilet.
