Has any one have any ideas on how I can clean my top water tank out of black bits that come out into toilet bowl when flushed please? Thanks

Hi thanks Marilyn I will give that a go next time I'm at the caravan, how much did you put in and did you leave for awhile and drain it all out?

Having suuffered from this, once it was clear we changed our rinse additive from Aquakem and it has not reappeared in the last 5 years.

Puriclean will clean it all out leave for an hour or two.Its been said that Thetford flush causes this..

Hi ,

We just followed amounts on bottle and left in system for about 4-5 hrs and then flushed out with water.

Hi jeff is puriclean what you also put in your water bottle to sterilise them the powder? If so I had some of it left ? I have been using ping thetford cleaner do that could be why. Thx

We had this problem a few years ago and I put some bleach in the full tank. After about an hour I pumped it all out and now we only ever use clear water and no additives. Not had any problem with our new van.

I was advised by theftford to use Milton to get rid of black bits before they had a tank cleaner.
