Anyone bought one of the new tow pro range from specialised covers? I quite fancy a towing cover was just wondering how easy they are to get on/off and which of the 4 options to go for. I am getting fed up with the English weather making a mess of my caravan every time we head out so thought I might invest if they are quick and east to get on/off

We've just got a Tow Pro Elite -it looks brilliant! Haven't had the chance to road test it yet, but will do this weekend!

Someone else i know with one says it took them no more than three or four minutes, so quicker than a bucket of soapy water! And it protects the front from stones better than a bucket as well!

Hi . We have bought the new tow pro. £179 one. At first we had a nightmare of a time getting it on our new Elddis. I contacted specialised about the problem,and I must say ,I got the best customer service that I ever had. The chap who took my order,could not apologise enough. He got his MD to phone me immediately,a chap by the name of Elliot. He asked what I thought was the problem,and I told him that I thought it would be better if the elastic on the sides went all the way down to the bottom,instead of 3/4. He got the main designer and himself,who re designed the cover within 24 hrs. They put the elastic all the way down on both sides,but also added a zip. They sent me the new version within 3 days,keeping me informed of everything that was happening throughout,also sending pictures of the new version of cover. The new cover is fantastic,it took my wife and daughter 5 minutes to put it on,and I know it's a bit pricey it is well worth the money in my opinion. It covers the front of the van perfectly,giving it full protection,also has slits in the right place for the lights. Hope it helps ,cheers Scoobz

I can only agree with what Scoobz says about the service from Specialised - the communication and the delivery was first class. And Scoobz was a great help to me by keeping me informed about the design.

Hope the cover performs as well as it looks. They are all well made, smart looking covers, so if you choose any one you shouldn't be disappointed!

While we are on the subject, I'm just in the process of having a new front window made for my van. Knowing my luck I'll get a stone chip or something the first time out, but I can't afford one of these covers. Is there anything I can cover the window with (was thinking cling film or the like?) in order to give it just a bit of protection?

We bought one about 18 months ago for our Bailey Unicorn as we have the alutech body it tends to get stone chips quite easily and this as now solved the problem plus a nice clean van on arrival to site.  We purchased ours from Busy Outdoors and I think it was around £90 very easy to fit.

We bought a front towing cover from a company that is suppose to specialise in them, but once we had paid, customer service was dismal with promised phone calls not happening.
Eventually after about 5 months usage we had to return the cover as it was fraying in places where it should not top fray. To give them their due they refunded all my money promptly even though I had to post the problem on a caravan forum first.
We now have a Protec cover that fits like a glove and at the moment we are very pleased with it.

We have a pro-tec front cover and won't tow without it, it takes 5 minutes to fit as it's tailored for the van, I really don't want to be washing my van when I arrive on site! it also provides protection from stone chips which a bucket of soapy water doesn't!

We have just received our new TOW PRO ELITE it looks great looks much easier than the old version.and it will stop ant stone chips etc,as we tow with a 4x4 and you do get them more with that. Looking forward to getting out there with it on.and saves me cleaning it when we get on site.as I do that not the husband.......

Don't use cling film at all, it will have a reaction with the window and can cause a 'crazing' effect to occur that you can't rectify; quite a pain, especially as you've bought a new window.
