Tentz and birdman - thats really interesting, shows how much of a newbie i am, i sort of thought that newer ones would be lighter, but your info makes complete sense gazmister, thanks for the tip on the sterkemanns, hadnt heard of them before but a quick search has shown that they tend to be light vans (although not many around) Philip22 - thanks for the info, i've had a quick look and although its def light enough for us to tow, its perhaps a bit on the small side with two adults and our two marauding children! jssparkes, thanks for the tip, there were a couple of crown vans which looked nice, good layouts, although would have to check the weight black fox: i would SO prefer a larger car, but cant bear to part with the old rover yet, it just keeps going, and doesnt cost us any money, so not keen yet to get rid (feels like bad karma lol). I would love a bigger car and a newer van but as we've not ever had a caravan before i'm a bit nervous of over committing ourselves really appreciating all replies
