Hi all
I keep going to my 2012 altea 542dt in stoage, and find the battery flat. i have checked and double checked anything i can think of, but being new to this i'm sure i'm missing something. i read about a 12v master switch but cant find.
any help from people would be gratefully recieved.

the adrias don't have a master switch. You must have left something on. Most common culprit is normally the fan on the truma fire or the amplifier on the tv aerial (if fitted). If you have a motor mover fitted you must make sure it is also turned off.
I know you say no tv but do you have a status aerial fitted to your van(on the roof)and if so it wil have an amplifier fitted in the wardrobe which must be switched off regardless if you have a tv or not. If the van was brand new to you and it doesn't then sorry for this suggestion but I don't know your set up.
OK wizzo thats worth a check too, its brand new from factory, well 2012 model, but i didnt think there was a tv aerial fitted. we are away for 5 nights over easter so i will get plenty of chance to tinker!! on another note, you say you got a cushion for the centre of the lounge? where did you get that from?
thanks for help

it could be the cold weather thats flattening the battery ,its the usual culprit .once your battery has gone flat its a 99% certainty its had it whether or not it looks like its taking a charge ,age has totally nothing to do with it .it might take a charge but won't hold it .

Ok I was just checking. If it was brand new to you and is not a dealer special then it is unlikely to have an aerial fitted.
I ordered the cushion direct with
Adria Concessionaires Ltd
Hall Street
Long Melford
Suffolk

They don't normally deal with the public but my dealer didn't seem that interested.
You may be able to order it direct from manufacturer in the UK
Premier Furnishings – Tel. 01159 316940 (Main switchboard
It cost me around £120 delivered 3 years ago.
I hope this helps.
It may be worth connecting the battery to a smart charger to see if it will condition the battery. I know if if you totally flatten them then can be damaged. I have an Elecsol battery that is supposed to be able to cope with this and I have to say they do. I have flattened mine around 3 times and each time it has come back to life

That is complete nonsense
Flattening a car/leisure battery will damage it - sometimes beyond repair.
yes too true. avoid flattening your battery . It can kill even a new one. If you have and you claim on your warranty I wouldn't mention you have totally flattened it. It could have been a faulty battery in the first place.
