Our 2006 Lunar zenith 4 berth lightweight is only valued at £5,500 in the caravan price guides, and that includes a motormover, with all the kit and two awnings we would be lucky to get £6,000 for it in a private sale, and that includes a full service history with reciepts for damp checks too.
On that grounds, I think you may be able to negociate something off your friends asking price, especailly as you will have no warantee on a privare sale.
