Hi Tony thanks for the reply, right we've put a deposit on a 2005 occasion 640 CB i think you call it,its got the island bed at the rear running in line with the van, looks a lovely Van,havn't actually seen it in the flesh yet so to speak.something that struck me funny whilst looking through the photo's of the van was the loo, i could not see a door to remove the cassette, can you shed any light on this please ?
My 640 Occasion has a rear bathroom with the door to the cassette on the rear nearside. Mine is a 2007 model, one of the last before the company went into Administration and was taken over by the current owners, however if you take a look at their web site the basics are still the same in the 2013 models although many of the fittings and fixtures have been upgraded.
One thing to note about Vanmasters is as they are made to order the customer can request changes and adaptations before they are built. When you order you go to the factory, sit down with the designer, choose the layout you want as a starting point and then discuss specific requirements. I know of one owner who requested the bathroom layout changed so the cassette door was on the offside so they didn't have to access from inside their awning, so you can't be sure with a model number, you have to look at each individual unit to see what is fitted and where. Same applies to having a "normal" under unit 'fridge or a full height fridge-freezer. The furnishing sizes can be modified to fit around equipment requested.
Will you be towing or putting on a seasonal pitch? If you tow I would recommend having ATC fitted, there is probably not much size difference to your current caravan but the 2000kg does tend to move in side winds.
