hiya...just been looking at the plate on oue van....there are 3 boxes in box 0 its got maw- 1045...witch i presume is the max weight of van.......in box 1- its got 75 kg...and box 2 its got cap 213kg , can someone tell me what it all means please....thankyou....

I think you'll find maw is maximum authorised weight of the caravan , the 75kg relates to the nose weight , and the cap ( capacity ) 213kg is how much you can carry .

The 1045 kgs. sounds like the MIRO (unladen weight), the 213 kgs. would be the payload (what you are allowed to carry on board) and the 75 kgs. would be the noseweight, so if you add the MIRO and payload together it adds up to 1258 kgs. which would be the MTPLM (maximum weight).

Wizard is right. MAW = Maximum Authorised Weight. To get the unladen weight, take the CAP from the MAW and you have 832.

To comply with the 85% recommendation the towcar should have a minimum kerbweight of 1230Kg.

was a bit worried for a min...just brought a xsara piccaso.2.o hdi...kerb weight 1300kg...to tow with....hoping to take her out whit bank hol, now all the work has been done....thanks guys....

ha ha ...its took all over winter to replace all the frame as it was rotten...but i must admit its looking great now...cant wait to try it out....its our first ever van, have always tented before..so not going to venture too far the first time...
