The Adria 542DK would fit the bill. It has adult sized bunks a is 1300KG fully laden. You could pick up a 2010 possibly a 2011 for £10,000. They have robust polyester sides and tow very well. They are full UK spec

Hi Stuart, our kids are about the same age as yours. Our last van had bunks and at 11yrs old it was clear that our girl wasn't getting the best nights sleep on bunks. This was due to the confined space, the width if the bunks and the thickness of the mattress. So we came away from the fixed bunk option and plumbed for two long front benches instead with a fixed rear double for us.

We have a Burstner, they have full sized (adult sized) fixed bunks. Very comfy as well. There was a good one on eBay not sure if it's still there... Just to take a look at it..

Adria DK Altea is good. Light too, only 1300kg MPLM.
The Altea 542 dt will probably have the same problem as you already have as iit has 3 bunks. We changed from this van because of headroom.
Adria bunks are very wide.

We have two children aged 11 and 8 also, we got fed up with making up the rear bunks in our 5 berth everynight and so went for a Sprite Major 6. The bunks at the back are pretty large and the front seats are long(and wide) to use as single beds, there is also a large side dinette for when the children get older, there is plenty of storage so we only have to put up a porch awning for coats, shoes and bikes. Some Sprite major 6 models do have triple bunks but that restricts headroom, that layout didn't suit us but would suit larger families, the children can sit up comfortably on the bunks and read a book or watch a DVD, The fully laden weight is 1425kg so the van is not too heavy.

I am new to all this.....but we have an Adria with fixed bunks and they are a really good size. The bottom bunk will accommodate an adult and the top bunk is a great size (same as the lower bunk), but has a weight limit of 70kg (11 stone) which should be fine for teenagers.

Another vote for the Adria, two bunk beds and a side dinette. I have slept in the bottom bunk with no problems, as before the top bunk has a weight restriction of 70 kg, fine for teenagers.

Hi I have a 2006 542UK, if you search on You tube for a 'Adria Altea 542UK' it comes up with a clip from Salop caravans with the exact model I have. Sorry not sure how to attach a clip. It doesn't have an oven, I just use a cookworks one from Argos.
