Do you have a small control panel, usually with two knobs, situated probably on the side of your wardrobe? One will be for the electrics, the other will be for your gas thermostat?
Have you removed the Plastic flue cover from over the vent on the outside of the caravan before attempting to Light the gas? failure to do so will prevent the fire from lighting, as its a safety feature that keeps the flue clean whilst traveling and when in storage, but is the main flue vent for fumes when in use.
Finally does your caravan have a Blown air duel fuel type fire, or is it just a gas fire type fitted to the front of your wardrobe with no extra ducting to your washroom?
