We're travelling from Middlesbrough to Newquay now. We stopped tonight at Dulhorn farm . Just of the motorway near Weston super mare. £15 with electric. Showers are clean as. We were going to book c& cc site but couldn't book a pitch for just 1 night. This place is good. We will set off in morning to Newquay which is just over 2 hrs drive from here.

What sort of advice are you looking for? You pay your fee and lock your doors. £17 for 24 hours. Personally I'd rather find a local camp site and get a peaceful night.
We planned to stop at Taunton Dene a few years ago, arrived 1 am, full! Went on to Exeter....full! Ended up travelling all the way to our site near Padstow and getting there around 4am ish and stopped in their overnight arrivals bay!
If doing it again I would book into a site on the way and ask about late arrivals.

Peak periods they all fill up very early on and are not cheap, and they love clamping. lay-bye's on A30 also fill up. Find yourself a site on way and book it NOW.
Yes, book a site. Not only are services expensive, they are hardly peaceful, not what you want after a long journey. We made that mistake once, never again.
Agree with the posts above, been going to St Ives for years
and at peak times it can be difficult to stop anywhere.
service stations are very noisy places at night, and never leave your van unattended.
there are some good lay-byes set back from the road on the A30 but you would have to find a space so early that you might as well carry on to your site.
I find the best way is to take regular breaks and make the trip in one day, Sunday is a good day to travel, a lot less lorry's on the road.
If you are going to book a site for the night as above posts do it now.
We stopped at that service station a few years ago on the way to Devon it was about 3am in the morning and all we wanted to do was get some fuel and toilet stop it was so busy it took us 2 hours just to drive through no toilet stop and no fuel will never stop their again for anything it was terrible so give it a miss.Ian

Thank you for some great advice.Decided to book in on a site around Taunton.Set off either in the afternoon or the early evening on the thursday. Our first night in Cornwall is Friday, thought it might be a bit Quieter to travel down on the Thursday, well hoping it might be.Thanks again
We live near to Taunton and keep our caravan at Thornhills Farm which is also a certificated site. I think it is about a tenner a night. Ehu, an easy tow off junction 23 and then ypu would rejoin motorway at junction 25.
