After a great 9 night in Wales in our van both my OH and myself have found that we are suffering aces and pains due to sleeping on the airbed. We tried a night just on the cushions but found this much worse.
What do you sleep on? - Airbeds, camping mats, the cushions or a foam topper?
Also how do you go on storing the item you sleep on during the day? We could leave the bed made up but i do prefer to take the bed down during the day if we can.
The cushions in our van are just foam, would we be better investing in sprung ones does any one know?
Advice appreciated.

Cheapest option is double foam topper £50 incl. cover from ebay supplier, works for me. I do keep bed made up all the time though as it would be difficult to roll up.

My little caravan has basic foam seats which are ok but not very comfortable for more than a couple of nights.
I use a Raskelf Duvalay now which is basically a 4" memory foam base with a 10.5 tog duvet attached. Extremely comfortable and I always sleep well.
During the day, I just roll it up and stand it at the end of the seat.

I am currently looking at replacing my foam seats with sprung mattresses!

My seats are hard, I used a couple of egg box matresses on top. Over them I fitted a couple of cheap mattress covers so they would stay where they were put. During the day, these stay on the seats and are covered with a throw and we just sit on them! That saves rolling them up and finding somewhere to store them.

If you are putting up a double for the night, you can still use two single toppers, then just put them on top of the seats and cover for use during the day.

Memory foam topper from BM Bargains 30 something pounds. 50mm thick, real comfy and thin enough to fold away during the day.

As already stated, turn cushions over and they are firmer, open sleeping bag out and fits the double perfect and the same as a duvet.

There's always one sarcastic comment - Thanks LyraTours!

Thank you for your advice everyone else.

I will have a look into a Duvalays, or memory topper, just hope I they are small enough to roll up under the seats, as my two boys are after more comfort now.

Duvalays are not that easy to roll up as with any decent memory foam, but once you get the technique it's fine.

We have two Duvalays and they both roll up and fit under one of the seats. Although we tend to put them on one of the bunks during the day.

We have home made "duvalay" . Got a memory foam Stoppers and cut down a double dduvet cover. Rolls up and fits under front seat no problem. Much better than just the seat cushions.

We bought double mattress topper then cut in half and made covers. They can then be used as singles or next to each other as a double. easier to roll up and store under seats in day or put under seat cushions to store.

We've recently purchased ur first van with a fixed double bed, and put a standard mattress topper on it. It's heads and shoulders above anything we've had to sleep on in a van before. Can't recommend highly enough.
