If it helps you can buy a cable extension with a male and female end on it and just feed it through the window..

Possibly in beside ehu socket or battery box. Ours is underneath the front of the van in it's own little compartment, but I'm afraid I go for the easy option and run it thro the window cos have the same prob with disability, could get down with a struggle, but when it comes to getting up again I'd be in dead trouble...Mick

Having just downloaded and read through the 2012 handbook for the Avante, there's no mention of an external TV aerial point at all.
Just out of curiosity, do you have a problem with the fitted Status aerial, or just in need of connecting an external point as an option?

Do not think there will be an external fitting because the status roof aerial will be wired directly to the inside socket.you may need to get one fitted.

We have a Lunar and ours is just below the EHU cable connector in the battery box.

The external connections will be for a satellite link using F plugs and sockets. However you can link a coax cable to the sockets, inside and outside the van, using F to Coax adaptors.

An external aerial connection could be easily fitted to the van, but once installed it's not just so easy to plug in and be done. You'd most likely have the new feed wired to where your current Status 'booster' unit is fitted, then when required you either have to manually swap over the Status connection for the external feed, or have a switch box to allow selection between the two as necessary.
Perhaps chat with your usual service dealer if this option would be convenient for you.

I fitted an external one to ours and wired it into a little surface mounted co-ax socket like this that I fitted in the battery box, nice and handy to plug into at the same time as I'm there with the EHU. The most awkward bit was hiding it in the trunking from battery box to behind the tele but glad I did it. Bye the way, you can buy special 'F' plug ribbon cable for satellite from places like Maplins and here so that you dont squash your window rubbers when the window is closed.
