Hi
We have been looking for a caravan for a few months and are after a lightweight 6 berth. Have come across a 2009 Adria for £3500 so I emailed them and asked them about it and asked why it was so cheap. This is the response I got:
appreciate your intent of buying my caravan . The caravan stands in perfect condition and it is CRIS registered.Paint is good ,no dings or dents .We also are both non smokers .
Our last price is 3500 GBP.
We bought the caravan from UK when we was in a holiday in Scotland.
The reason for selling it now is that we are both retired and we love spending our time traveling around the world by plane, so a caravan is no more useful for us.
We are currently in Hauts-de-Seine, France but if you are really interested to buy our caravan we are ready to come to UK at the end of the week and you can take a look . Where do you live?
What do you think? Sure I've seen something similar on here before
Definitely a scam, if you enquired further, they'd offer to have it transported to you and want you to deal with a (fake but impressive looking website) escrow service!!
Ignore and go look at real caravans in the flesh, good luck with looking
It was on the caravan club website. An
Defo going to report it. Can't even believe I thought for one minute that it might be real - what a complete numpty!!!
With any sort of ad of this nature with caravan too cheap, at some point they will want money before you can see the caravan, thats when you know its a scam.
Pretty sure the last time it was mentioned it was'nt an Adria, but the rest of the story is the same.
------------- XVI yes?
As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.
These things appear in mags, local papers, ebay, trade-it etc. A decent ad manager will reject them. I complained to our local paper recently and they stopped them.
They will appear for any desirable item - caravan, motorhome, flash cars etc. Caveat emptor!
Theres a series 7 bailey pageant provence on ebay with a classified ad price of 6100 inc loads of kit, awning and mover. Write up seems genuine enough but its at least 2k under the caravans value.
What do you reckon?
ebay link unusual as in the seller actually has feedback.

seen this story before..when we were looking there was an ad on gumtree ...i ended up reporting it as it was truly a scam..but you keep looking because you think you are going to get a bargain...at least my brain got into gear and gumtree withdrew it and said yes ...it did look like a scam ... beware its everywhere ...
