Hi all, don't know if anyone can help but we have a technika 19 inch lcd freeview tv that goes in the cupboard near the ceiling of the van, it turns so you can watch from bed or the front sofas, now my prob is because we are lower down than the tv when's its dark on tv it seems to look like were looking at a negative if you know what I mean, we've tried putting placemats under the back of the stand to tilt it but it gets unstable and nearly tips over if we move too quick.
Is it that we need a better viewing angle tv or have we got the settings wrong? Any help or ides would be greatly appreciated.
What you describe is exactly a problem related to viewing angle.
It could be awkward to 'fix' your current TV unless you are prepared to make some brackets to stop the thing tipping over, or do you have an option to fit an adjustable mounting bracket anywhere, which would be better to adjust for all angles?
If you consider changing the set, you obviously need to check all the viewing angles of the TV's you look at.
It's also my experience that the viewing angles are generally better/wider to either side of the screen, and no so flexible when viewed upwards as you're doing.

Go for a higher end TV if you can't get it on a tilting wall bracket. Cheap screens have poor viewing angles.
If you can get to a store that has units on display. That way you can actually see what will suit best for your application rather than reading the sales blurb.
I went for a more expensive samsung over a technica as the picture quality when viewed from anything over than straight on was poor.
If your TV can also be used as a monitor, then you may find there are control options within the menus to do this, again this function is unfortunately usually seen in the more expensive TV's.
