We are off to Setthorns, New Forest for Whitsun again this year and we are taking our dog for the first time and can't wait. However, we have been made aware about the link / information above about unexplained illness affecting dogs, which is proving fatal. The last case was about 5 miles from the campsite. The authorities have done loads of tests but haven't found any reason for it happening.
Just wondering if anyone has been or knows any further information about it?
I'm sure something like that has been mentioned on here before.
------------- XVI yes?

More info here from vet specialists dealing with each case. I have emailed them this morning to see what there thoughts are on bringing dogs on holiday to the area.

I posted this about 3 weeks ago but didn't title it well and it didn't get any interest. At the time it was centred around Latchmore brook between Fordingbridge & Cadnam. Don't know if this is still the centre of interest.
Hi Millermicm, Fordingbridge is still the centre of it but no new cases since 1st march so hopefully sorted. We can avoid the area but you would feel awful if your dog becomes ill. I emailed the specialist vets and they said the area was safe but go to vets immediately if your dog develops sores or leasions.
