Yes, we are very much newbies, and in need a bit of pratical advice,
We have been given a 1996 Elddis Gulfstream GTX and the cassette toilet thingy we have no idea what to do, we would like to know where the pink and blue liquids go? and do we add water?
Also should we clean it out before putting the liquids in, if so what with and how do we do it?
If not, the blue goes direct into the waste tank. Open the blade first and add a small amount of water with the blue.
There should be a holding tank for the pink, accessed from outside - normally above the cassette access hatch. Dilute per instructions on the container.
If its first time, flush out the thunder box with clean water first and swirl it about a bit then empty before you add some blue. Only use amount on container if used for all functions, if it's just for wees use much less.
Google Thetford.
If your short on hand books for the equipment in the van try google most of the equipment manufacturers will have on their web sites down loadable handbooks or at least basic how to guides.
Or you could just buy one bottle that does both Plus it does'nt niff like the Thetford stuff

As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.
Thanks to andy4x4, G7ACU, powerful pierre55, and blueexpo97, for all your replies we will take a look at the websites, so at least we will have an idea what we are doing,
I would like to upgrade to a newer van later on, but will see how it goes with this one, then hopefully be able to persuade OH to part with some cash,
I wouldn't agree there. We always prime the casette ready for use en route if necessary, and have a few litres of water in the flush tank. Never had any leaks in 15 years,
What you might encounter is black bits in the flush tank when you flush it through if it's been standing, however, If you do get this then just Milton and water will solve the problem but don't add any other chemical to it. Once it's been flushed through completely then you can just use the pink flush with water afterwards as normal and there shouldn't be any evidence of any black bits. Regarding other previous threads though this only seems to happen with the 'Thetford' pink and not other brands for some unknown reason. Just thought it was a good tip that's all.
Nope it does happen with other brands, must just be a flush tank thing.
