We lost the rear skylight from our 1996 Bailey Discovery one day on the motorway - got home and it just wasn't there anymore!
I'd have been so grateful of someone had waved us down to let us know it was open. A replacement dome was about £50, and bought in a hurry (it looked like rain) from the only caravan parts shop still open at 5 to 4 on a Sunday afternoon.
We later saw another caravanner (with a lovely new looking 'van) driving on the motorway with one of their big side windows very wide open, almost at 90 degrees horizontal. Now that would have been VERY expensive to replace if another vehicle had ripped it off while overtaking. We tried to wave them down, but never saw if they understood our gestures.... hope they stopped and checked the 'van over at the next services.
------------- 2015 - our 1st year of caravanning with a new baby. Can't wait! :)
