 I've removed the sky lights in various vans over the years. Just remove the 4 screws that fix the four sprung "legs", gently pull them of the lugs on the frame, lift the light up above the roof and lower it down into the van diagonally. In my experience the only place they tend to crack is around the "rivets" holding the two parts together, easily sealed with a small blob of silicone. It's actually quicker to do than to describe, and as easy as it appears.
