We have made the decision and finally done it, went to Black Country Caravans yesterday and bought a Swift Charisma 535 fixed bed, dont think I could have gone another holiday making up the double bed (pensioners you see), so we pick it up in 2 weeks, we have to dig the drive up a bit to make it go down garden, this is where son and son-in-law come into action. Cant wait for holidays and warmer weather

I have a 5 berth caravan. It had a seating area at the back which makes into a double bed with a single bunk arrangement to go above. I removed the bunk and all the seat cushions. I made up the double bed lats screwing the seat ones down to make sure they don't move and put on a proper good quality 9 inch thick mattress plus 2 inch memory foam topper to make a fixed bed. The weight of the new arrangement was similar to what I removed. We tried it out two weeks ago for four nights. Very nice but still have to climb over my wife to get out. Would love an island bed caravan in the future.
