Hi folks

I made a fine looking trailer some time ago out of old caravan base it now needs

two new tyres 520 x 14 anyone know where I can find these

Try indespension they do odd sizes for boats.also ask national tyres.

yes any tyre centre just make sure it's for a trailer.

I expect other people can get them, the national chains are not usually interested in looking for stock but local independents are usually quite helpful.

As above classic tyre companies still list them.


But maybe consider swapping the wheels and tyres?

145 x 14 which is a standard 80 profile?

If you can go wider a 155/65 x 14 is much cheaper. But will require new wheels to suit.

5.20x 14 are crossply tyres. even classic car and caravan owners, like myself, tend not to use them anymore. The chances are your tow vehicle is on radials, so makes sense to upgrade to radials. The radial aquivilent is 155.60x14. Commonly used on Astas and the like. If the trailer is used for light weights, you can fit car tyres. For heavier weights, use van grade tyres. These have extra cords.  I have just bought a pair of part worns off fleabay, for my teardrop camper for £17.  If it sits outside the sunlight will detiorate tyres while it stands. So no point in spending a fortune.(Best to cover with canvas or old carpet, when left standing).
