I have been away this weekend for the first time in our caravan, it is an older caravan fitted with a cascade 2 water heater ( gas only ) Friday and Saturday it worked fine with just the green light on but Sunday morning when I switched it on it started clicking from the main unit and the red light came on with the green. I tried this a few times and even bought a new gas bottle thinking it might be low on gas pressure but the same thing happened. I read on this forum that this means a malfunction and the burner has not lit. Today I have removed the outer cover to check and when I switched the system on I found that the burner is lighting as it should but the red light is on with the green along with the clicking noise. The water is heating up nicely. Can anybody help explain what this means. Thank you
From memory I thought a cascade 2 runs on gas and electric...the red light means the gas has failed to ignite the hot water means the electric is heating it...
Thanks for your replays but this system has not got an electric water heater, if fact the electric hook up was not even connected, the burner was defiantly lit as I could see the flame so the gas had ignited this is why I don't understand why the red light is on and there is also a constant clicking nose as if the unit is still trying to light itself.
My apologies re electric then. I didnt read all the post about cascade 2 but id say the clicking is the igniter as well and its evidently not worked out its done its job and lit the gas...presume the igniter has a feed to it of electric or 12 volt for it to work i'd start to look at that next

Fixed ! The problem was water in the control module, I removed it from the van dried it out using a hair drier and then left it on a heater for a couple of days, sealed it with silicone, refitted and now working fine.
Thanks for all your advice and a massive THANKS to Gary at ARC Systems.
