Ok, although we love our little Elddis, and after using it a couple of times with the kids we are realising that we are only going to get this year out of it as its only a 4 berth and we are 5. Also we would like to do winter caravanning so the kids in the awning wouldn't be an option.
So......... We Are looking In to the possibility of getting a new caravan maybe next year. We quite like the look of the Adria Sportline 6 berth dt which is a dealer special based on the Altea.
OH mentioned it to someone last night and they pulled a right face! Eugh, cheapy ones they are, don't touch them, they're foreign etc etc
What do you think of Adria caravans?
They have a 10 year water ingress warranty like some of the other british made vans and I can't help coming back to their very first comment........................ Eugh, cheapy ones!
i don't agree with your friend, we have just bought the 542DT Sportline from Venture caravans, its great. Larger bunks than Bailey, its lighter to tow and the side panels are very tough and more resistent to knocks than aluminium types.
Many haven't notice yet but Bailey have just reduced their warranty to 6 years from 10 at the same time Adria increased from 6 to 10. Add all this to the price difference and you have a sound van at a good price.
Not saying its for everyone, but its a good van ;-)

Have been caravanning for 35 years and bought our first Adria last August. I can honestly say it's the best built van we've had. I don't know about being cheap, ours wasn't. Go for it, sounds good..........Mick
We got an adria 542 dt last year, not the sport line, but we have some of those features as extras. The thing is that they don't come with lots of extras (e.g tv aerial, massive oven, microwave etc) - that may be why they are less expensive but not cheap! The high spec adora etc does cost more. The lower spec suited us as we were used to a tent. You can add what you need. Having looked round many vans I thought the adria suited us as the bunks were bigger, it was spacious and the decor was plain and modern. It seemed pretty well built to me compared to others. Long draw bar apparently is good for towing and it tows really well I have found. It was lightweight too which was really important as I didn't want to change our car. . Go and see one and research reviews to make your own mind up. If you are happy that's all that matters in the end.
We have an Adria and it is great. We getlots of people admiringtne van when on site and when they look around it they are even mre impressed. Tows like a dream as well. Go for it!
I notice you've omitted your outfit details, any particular reason
------------- XVI yes?
As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.
I've said it before but if British vans are so good how is it none of the uk manufacturers export to Europe but you see loads of imports including adria in the uk. The question you have to ask yourself is do you want to keep up with the jones or buy a quality van that you like.
Adria have dealers all over Europe the Dutch, Germans ,French etc all love them so who is right some bloke in a pub all most of the continent.
Had Adria been at the NEC in February, we would have probably bought one but they weren't and we ended up with an Elddis. I think that they are great vans!
I've no experience of Adria vans, but I would have thought the person your OH spoke to has never been near one.
You get good and bad examples from all the manufacturers.
Whatever van you have, you will find someone, somewhere who will knock it.
At the end of the day, the only person you have to please is yourself (and OH of course).
I think the best thing is to find a van whose layout suits you best rather than worry about what other people may think.Adria vans to me do have a bit of a spartan look buif they were the van with the layout that suited our family I would go with it.
