We are new to caravanning (and love it!) so i may be about to ask a really stupid question!
Our caravan is on our drive and is not level when its parked there. Should we make sure its level when on the drive or does it not really matter? We often pop in and out of it to put things in or just generally sit in it but i don't want us to end up breaking it!! Obviously its not on a slant where everything rolls to one side, its just not level.
I would of thought you would be OK as long as the legs are down. Many people put them in storage and don't level them on purpose so the rain will drain off the roof quicker.
Personally I always make sure it's level, but I'm not sure why.

Steadies are just that. Steadies. They will not level the caravan and to attempt to do so may cause damage to you (strain injury) and the van.
To level front to back use the jockey wheel. To level side to side use those little ramp things or chocs of wood.
Level in storage is only an issue if you want water to drain out of it e.g. the sink or you want to use the fridge. If neither applies it doesn't matter.
We leave our in storage with the jockey wheel right up and the hitch dumped in the weeds so to speak. It aids in water coming off the roof more easily. If we need to go in prior to going anywhere its a simple matter on winding the jockey wheel down.
i alway level for the simple reason, after heavy rain it all gets away and i am not putting all the water onto one set of windows.on site i am worse.it has to be spot on level then doors dont fall open off the catch.and the fridge can run as it should.fuss pot.? yes.
------------- the only silly question is the one you do not ask.
I agree with michael regarding having the caravan level especially on site as there's nothing worse than having doors swinging open or shut due to being unlevel when sited. Also as michael says, having it unlevel parked up causes no concern except that the rain water will gather in the same place every time which will cause green algea to form which eventually will stain the roof. Always use a ramp to level the caravan and never the steadies as the wheels are supported by the steel tubular axle which is strong. The four corner steadies are only fixed the underside of the wooden floor and not designed as lifting jacks so eventually the pressure in time will push up the caravan floor separating the fixture from the chassis.
