Hi i was asked by my insurance company for the serial number for my 1986 Sprite Alpine Ci Caravan As i'm new to owning a caravan i don't know where to find it. I looked on the plate by handbrake and found this if it helps. TYP=KF 7,5 AUSF= C VON=375KG BIS=750KG ZUI,STUTZLAST=75KG M=1435 BAU.NR=P21 EG-PRUF-PROTOKOLL-NR 361-089-80. Am i right thinking the last number would be the one i'm looking for?. Many thanks
my German is not that good but I don't think that is a serial number I think it is the reference for the EC legislation that it has been tested against, Europäischen Gemeinschaft Prüfung Protokoll Nr. 361-089-80.
My 1980 CI Alpine C has an identification number X80/nnnn but I don't know whether the format had changed by 1986
Thanks for the answers. I have just found the National Caravan Council Certificate for the caravan and it gives a Chassis number in there. So is that the serial number they are looking for?, Sorry if i keep asking but i've never owned a caravan before so i'm not sure what i'm meant to look for. Thanks again
the NCC certificate chassis number is pretty certainly the one your insurer is looking for, that is where I got the VIN/chassis number from for my 1980 CI Alpine.
You may well find that it matches some of the unidentified elements on the plate on the A-frame.
If you're still not sure let me know what the NCC certificate chassis number is.
