Hello everyone
We have just joined 'caravan world' and are proud owners of an Adria Altea 542UK 2007. Thrown in with the van was a Reimo Bergamo awning - without instructions.
Does anyone know how to get or indeed have any instructions they could possibly let us have?
New to the forum as well so any assistance greatly appreciated.
Here's hoping.
Thanks
Phil and Karen

Hi best thing to do until you have instructions is to lay all the poles out on the ground. We also have a Adria 542 UK 2008 Model yr.

Our large awning for the van consists of the following poles

3x vertical leg poles, 1 in each front corner and 1 in the middle apex of the awning.

3x Horizontal poles going across the roof. Ie. left side and right side (looking form the front facing the entry door of the van) and a middle pole.

2x horizontal poles going between each corner and middle pole at roof level.

The two corner poles should have a four way connector on, and the middle apex pole similar but more in the shape of "T".

Leg poles normally have a spike or spiked foot on.

In addition to this there is also 2 extra roof poles which clamp between centre and corner poles, and 2 extra vertical poles which also clamp in similar place.

The front of awning over the windows has short stubby poles (x3), with a hook on one end to hook through the awning.

Some awnings may come with a veranda pole again which goes inside from the middle pole to a corner pole, horizontally. .

There should also be either feet or clips to attach the roof poles to either the awning or the caravan.

One of the best things to do is nip along to a local dealer in awnings and have a look at them. Most awning poles go up in a similar fashion.

Hope this helps
Chris W

Thanks everyone and to Chris in particular.
Chris, I'm intrigued as to how the full size awning you have works with the adria as I'd heard they aren't the easiest to match with awnings.
Do you mind sharing the model ref?
By the way we are delighted with our choice of van.
We have 2 children aged 13 and a 2 year old and the full sized bunks work brilliantly with the other side good now for a travel cot and soon for the single with bed guard.
Thanks again.

I had the 542UK and there is was no issues with matching with a full awning. I had the NR 1000 (20ft) executive. You may have some issue with a porch awning as the front door is very close to where the track slopes at the front. We also had a 390 Royal windsor porch and that fitted ok but not perfect.

Hi We have the Star camp awning 10m, and although the front of caravan slopes down have never really thought about it with the big awning, as i just normally peg the front side first so its straight and then work backwards, it fits really well.

The issue comes with smaller porch awnings, again with the front sloping and the door being at the front. What we do with both our porch awnings is make sure that when viewed facing the caravan door, that the left hand side of the awning is inches from the door when open and locked against the caravan. Do this mean the awning extends more to the right of the door, and therefore takes away some of the drop effect because of the sloping roof.

Our two porch awnings are the lightweight Outdoor revolution Techlite 1 and outdoor revolution Porchlite XL. both ideal for weekends, however the Techlite is 1 pole whilst the other is 3 poles, and both similar size, but we prefer the Techlite 1.

Hope this helps, although difficult to explain.
