Can anyone help.
We have problems with the location when winding the legs down on the back of the caravan , the socket it's not visible and we find it very difficult to attatch the winder it is not visible or does not protrud enough. My husband cannot cope with it . And I find it awkward.
Is there an extension to fit on these . Does any one else have problems . We have also thought about putting tape on to make the location. We are having to kneel down to attatch the winder this is no good when its raining or if we are not on a hard standing.
You could fit a piece of plastic pipe large enough to allow steady winder to travel to steady. Seen this idea used on other vans when steady is far under rear of van. Guides the winder straight to steady nut. Obviously will require fixing with clamps so will need someone to lie on the floor to do this.

I have the exact same problem. Due to back problems I cannot bend down low enough to see the winding nut on the rear steadies and the only way I can reach them is to kneel down. I now keep a small foam gardening mat in the front locker which I kneel on when the ground is wet or bumpy.
never but never wind my legs up and down now unless i forgot to charge up my drill, worst job in caravanning and backache to match.buy a quality cordless drill of about 14 to 18 volts.plus two batteries.to save £9 find a good socket to fit the nut on the leg wind.find a long nut and bolt about 6 to 8 inch long and thin enough to go through the socket.thred the bolt though the socket place a good nut behind and tighten up fully.you now have your socket with a long reach too.possibly still have to look for the leg nut but winding up and down will be only a few easy seconds.
------------- the only silly question is the one you do not ask.
I have replacement knees and so cannot kneel down but the steady legs on my folding camper are well recessed so I fitted 4, 2" plastic tubes as guides under the FC.
The outside can be seen when standing at the end of the FC and the other end sits exactly in line with the steady leg winding bolt.
They make raising and lowering the legs a doddle.
I even bought an extension for the electric drill, but that is just pure laziness.

I think that is brilliant and would work. I was hoping that some one may have already invented something.
