We have a full size awning with annexe which we use on longer breaks (1&2 weeks) which our teenage son and his friend sleep in but we would like something smaller and quicker to put up that we could use on weekends for them to use. He says its embarrassing for them sleeping in the van with his parents
After doing some internet searching I quite like the look of the Kampa 390 although need to see one 'in the flesh'. Does anyone have this awning and could tell me if it's worth the price and if its easy to erect.
We have the Kampa Rally Pro 390 and we think it's an excellent awning. It seems to be very well made and yes it is a fairly easy set up. Well worth the money
------------- XVI yes?
As well is two words!

We also have the Rally 390, very easy to put up and with having adjustable poles it is ideal when the ground isn't as level as we would like !!!! My son has slept in ours in a pop up tent. We bought the rear upright poles which make it stable and because of the padding sewn in this protects the poles from knocking on the van. We also have the monsoon poles but no longer use them as we have found that they are a very tight fit and at one point has pulled the edge out of the awning rail slightly causing rain to come through. We find it an excellent awning for the money.
We have both a Pro 390 and a 200 and have no problems with them. Most of the time, weather permitting, I put them both up on my own while the wife arranges the inside of the van after arriving on site. we are looking to change the 390 for the 390 plus at some time, as this would provide more space with the added annex. We think the awnings are excellent quality, easy to erect/dismantle and well worth the money.
We have the Club 330 and have been very pleased with it - easy to put up and take down, and being lightweight easier to dry out when you get home! In fact we now prefer it to the "heavyweight full" awning and use it all the time however long the trip is.
Having said that, it is what it is, a lightweight awning. I'm not sure I'd want to sleep in it, although I know some people do. My teenage son preferred a "pup tent" of his own since he was 12 so we got him a decent two man tent, fine for him and a friend if he wants to bring one, and a bit "cooler" than either the van or the awning. gives him some space and privacy, and is also probably more snug and definitely more weatherproof than a lightweight awning to sleep in.
Also meant we could get the slightly smaller awning as we didn't have to worry about annexes or inner bedroom pods etc.
------------- Im no cactus expert, but I know a prick when I see one!
We have the kampa rally plus 260. Ideal if you have an older van that slopes off quicker at the front than newer vans. It comes with an annex and inner tent, to fit this you just zip off the side panel and then zip in the annex, 1 pole, bit of pegging and done dusted. Me and OH can do the whole awning in about 20 mins including pegging. Best thing about it is that the awning itself is more than big enough and quick enough for even weekend use we put a 2 man tent in there too so that our 2 oldest had their own "bedrooms" only thing is, they were colder than they thought. We've now ordered a bigger van so considering trading in the 260 plus for a 390. I would certainly consider using the larger one on longer stays, and the lighter weight is also a consideration when loading up for a longer holiday.
We were going to go for the 390 or the 360 but didn't have enough straight run of the awning rail, maybe something to consider?
Hi, We've got the 390 Plus which comes with the annex. Really quick and easy to put up and 12 yr old son sleeps in annex. Awning plenty big enough and we have been really pleased with it.
