Well we have finally bought our first caravan after agreeing we were spending too much of our weekends erecting and dismantling our Outwell tent.
Anyway onto the reason for my post - first is the Truma heater - its the gas only one which is fine, but what does the 3 position switch do on the left?
Also can't see any 12v sockets, how does this work when we are running on battery power? my TV has a cigarette plug.... can't see where to insert it !
and lastly, the aerial socket - anyone know what this is connected to? there are two exterior sockets in the battery bay, one looks std aerial and the other looks like a sat connection. Are they both connected to the one interior socket?
thanks in advance to any of you with the knowledge :-)
Hi, we've just ordered one of these. Not sure if the 2012 are the same as 2013 but there should be a 12v plug on the little table behind the side dinette as well as an ariel point?
Can't help with the heater till we've picked ours up and had a play. We will be watching your post though so that we know

The 12v socket is on the by the aerial socket on the TV cabinet between the side dinette and the front lounge. It is not the cigarette type it has two flat prongs.
The van doesn't come with the aerial connected( there is normally a roll of coax under the wardrobe floor(ready to be connected to either a roof aerial via the wardrobe routed to the battery locker) The battery locker doesn't come with any sockets so one asumes yours have been added by the previous owner and no doubt will be connected. You will have to connect an external aerial on a pole either to the jockey wheel,a fixed to the side of a van or the bollard on a superpitch.
The previous owner no doubt had a satalite system. most owners fit them out of sight in the cupboard under the tv or in one of the front seats and control via a magic eye. The cable may have been taken out or could be loose in one of the above mentioned locations
BTW if you are confident DIYer the trumaheat electric heating can be added for around £200. Ask if you need details.
NB
I have just googled the spotline and it is a dealer special wich had some extras added by the dealer Venture caravans. They would have added the sockets etc to the standard van. You could try calling them to find out add info
thanks Wizzo - I'll have a look in the morning, didn't notice the 12 volt but then I was looking for a cig type socket. How would you run a 12v TV from a socket with two flat pins? do I need to buy a new plug?
We did buy the van from Venture so they must have fitted the sockets, we bought new, this was their last 2012 model so we took advantage of a saving on the 2013 model. I'll give them a call tomorrow and find out what is connected, I suppose it is possible the sat and coax sockets in the battery compartment are both connected the coax socket in the van.

Appreciate your help :-)
The sportline 2013 comes with a maxview satelite kit included. I don't know about the 2012 but I would ask them where is you reciever and dish and see what they say. They may have forgotten to give you it.
As for the 12v socket,I made up a lead. I bought the plug from a local dealer for a couple of Quid and made up a lead. You can also by a cigarette converter such as this
thanks Wizzo - they did give me a box with satellite equipment in it. Haven't had chance to set it all up but was wondering if the external sat connector could be connected the the coax outlet in the van.
the ebay link is perfect, thank you - thats another purchase made !
There's a 12v two pin socket on our adria 54dt. You can buy an adaptor to plug in here that gives you a cigarette type socket. Ours has an aerial point there as well that links up to a coax socket under the mains hook up point that you access from outside. I think the satellite would be the same but we don't have that, just an external aerial. As for the heater, there is a dial for the fan on ours in the left. This blows the hot air from the gas heating round the van. We just set to auto. However what you describe could be electric heating settings from what I have read. Ours doesn't have this, but think I will upgrade this at some point. I think the settings are based on the ampage available to use from the hook up.
I have the bog standard 542DT and love it to bits. It's clearly so well made (and well insulated!). I hope you enjoy it as much as I'm enjoying mine (which admittedly is not as much as I'd like to!)
at wizzo. Surprised your selling after the customisation you'd done to it. You've put up some really useful posts to read on this model - cheers mate for doing this for us adria owners/ prospective owners!

It will be sad day when she's gone but unfortunatly circumstances have changed and I am giving up this whole lifestyle which I will greatly miss. I have enjoyed making her that bit more user friendly.
They are really great vans.I love the way they are constucted. You can see why damp issues are almost non existant especially in these current shape vans.
They are so robust and in some way have changed the shape of modern vans. The nose of the Adria used to be so distinctive but so many mainstream manufacturers have given their vans a similar shape.
The layout is perfect for families, everyone has their own space. Those Bunks are Huge!!. I have no doubt the new owner will be very pleased. I have given her a good polish and she is like new. There is not a mark on her which is a testimant to Adria and the materials they use. I will be still here to give help if needed.
It has been great to hear feedback from fellow caravaners and have made many friends along the way.
