I tow a twin unit and it is by far more stable than a single unit. As far as I can see it is less affected to side winds you are less likely to get a sea saw action if you load it right.
On the down side you may find it a lot harder to move by hand easy enough straight back and forward but trying any change of direction is hard going. Setting up is straight forward but if you have an awning you may have quite a gap above the draft skirt so you may want to get something to cover this. Levelling nose to tail is as a single but left to right can be slightly different (search posts for this).
Check your tow weights for the Freelander not sure but think it will be OK.
Same as Andy above, Very stable and a nice smooth tow with the right car and loads of space.
We have been using twin axle caravans for the last 12 years without any problems and no issues at any site we have been to
Don't expect to move it by hand though, you have a good tow car and an ideal car to fit a detachable front tow bar
£140 to buy and with a twin axle worth every penny.

I have had a twin axle for the last 4 years. Certainly more stable than a single axle. Might be a bit heavy for your Freelander. I have had no trouble on sites here in the UK but I have been refused in France. Now I always email ahead and ensure they take a twin axle. My experience is the the Municipal usually won't and about 1 in 4 other sites refuse.
