yesterday whilst our van was in storage, thieves stole both rear light clusters from our Abbey caravan, I have nowpurchased two new sets of lights, but does any one know which wire goes where, the thieves never cut any wires just unplugged them but I have no wiring info with the caravan and no fitting instructions were included with the lights.
any help most appreciated

Unless you get a wiring diagram you are going to have to do a bit of suck it and see. One shall be an earth and the rest shall be for each individual light indictor, tail and stop, reversing and possibly fog. To do this you will need to plug the van into the car and get some one to put the individual lights on one at a time. start with the main lights and find which is earth and power by plugging in to your light cluster finding the earth is critical after that it's pretty straight forward.
Oh don't let any wires touch each other or you will pop a fuse.

The easiest way to do this is to first check to see if you have the 7 pin 12N plug or the multi 13 pin plug. Which ever the case then search the internet for the corresponding wiring diagram and then have a look at the different colour wiring and the corresponding number to detect which wire functions each application and write then down on a piece of paper. The wiring loom colours at the rear caravan lights should correspond with that of the plug which you should be able to connect the correct wire to each individual light. That is what I would tend to do as it may save you time connecting at random and the chance of blowing any fuses. As an example see the link below (12N application).
I made a simple test rig for the lights which I use when I service the van
I fitted a 7 pin socket to a piece of board and wired each pin to a brass screw screwed into the board using the correctly coloured wire and labeled each one I have a length of two core flex with crocodile clips on one end and a lighter plug socket on the other to test each light I simply plug the caravan lights into the socket connect the lead to a 12v supply and using the crocodile clips I can clip onto the screws and check each light individually this would work just as well to identify each wire at the light fitting if you use a multi meter or simple bulb and wire to identify each live feed
many thanks for all the suggestions offered, found the wiring diagram very helpful, and have now fitted the new
lights to the caravan and all are working ok.
thanks again to you all.

I have just put a new rear light on right side of the caravan, but there is nothing working at all now. The left side is working ok. I have followed the wiring diagram
