Hello everybody, and excuse me as I am a new member but used the s website as a cracking reference guide and been to loads of great sites.

I was out with my 2008 abbey safari 620 this weekend when, for no reason all the 12 volt appliances stopped working (water pump, blow air heater, toilet flush and lighting) I have checked every fuse and all are OK. I fellow caravanner mentioned that the 12v supply runs thought the charger before reaching it destination ie lights water pump etc...
Before I buy a replacement has anybody else come across this fault and is my advisor correct ? I have to find the answer before I go away again as the wife is not happy with using the outside toilet.

Regards
CID sean

Hi Jeff, yep been through all the fuses and metered them out. I am at a bit of a loose end now which is why I have tok the advice from another caravaner pointing me towards to battery charger. I'm still not 100% sure If the 12 volt circuit goes through the battery charger before reaching the appliances. Can anybody confirm ?????

Hi,I have the same problem, all 12volt electric,s have gone, and I have checked everything, but still not working. We are on a seasonal site, visited on Wed,to find them all on,but after a few hours, they all went off again, and could not get them working. We do not leave our mains electrics plugged in,so the charger in the van, could not be charging the battery. It seems to do it's own thing???

Hi Riverdale lee, i have working on this for the 18hrs and the fault is with the battery charger, it also acts a transformer to step down the supply from 240volt to 12volt. Follow the link below which will give you the replacement you need.       Cheers Sean...http://sargentshop.co.uk/epages/eshop328964.sf/en_GB/?ObjectPath=/Shops/eshop328964/Products/WB2050

Hi Sean,Thank-you for the information. We will be going to the van,at the week-end,and will see if I can get someone to put the new one in,as I had already bought a new one last year,as the one in the van takes up all the front locker space, and has massies of wire's coming out of it.Much to complicated for a novice like me,lets hope that it will solve the problem. Thanks again Lee.

Fitted the Sargent power supply over the weekend while the van was in storage and all the low voltage appliances worked well so the fault was definitely that. Taking the van out this weekend so I will be able to test it with 240v.

Full marks to Sargent electrical.

Hi Sean Did you fit the power supply yourself or is it advisable to get someone else to do it Thanks.

You do realise this thread is 2.5 years old, and Sean hasn't been back since?

If you understand what you are doing then diy fitting is easy enough so if you need to ask then it is indeed advisable to get somebody else to do it.
