Likewise with the Caravan Club, you will be allocated to your local "centre". With either club you can attend any DA or Centre's rallies as long as you are a member.

Unless this has changed, you aren't automatically allocated but you do need to 'register' for your preferred (usually local) centre via the CC website. Regardless of your usual annual CC subscription, you have to renew your centre registration each year.
As mentioned though, you can easily meet up with a different centre's rally to suit yourself.
There's about 70 or so CC regional centres, so you're bound to find one in your area.
You don't have to join any centre but they will send you a rally book if you join with details of the years rallies and contact details. Most centres have a website though.
You are supposed to join the relevant club, but I know rally officers rarely check membership details.
My membership has also been checked too each and every time with the C&C Club rallies but the stewards have to do this anyway to record the necessary details and which particular DA you are registered with.
We always show our membership cards - the stewards need your name and membership number. They also take your car registration and write down how many adults/children in your group.
