Hi just had 4 days away and no problems with our gas for the first three then it stopped working ( which meant bacon in the microwave :( )
This is the second time in 12 months this has happened, checked the bottle and connections and even changed to the spare but no joy. I am aware of the problems with the truma bulkhead regulators but has anyone else had an intermittent problem like this? I don't want to shell out for a new regulator if there's another solution

Cheap & more reliable solution is just to remove bulkhead regulator & use a bottle top regulator. A 'suitably qualified engineer' will charge about £50/hr.

I had the same problem with my Truma reg.  It would work sometimes and other times it wouldn't.  I found that if I left the pigtail connected to the gas bottle overnight then the gas may not work the next morning.  If I disconnected the pigtail from the bottle and left it 'dangling' overnight then it worked the next day.  Don't know why.

I had the reg changed by my local mobile service guy.  He replaced it with another bulkhead reg.  It was a German make (can't remember the name) but he says that he has replaced a lot of Trumas with these and has never had a problem.  They are also guaranteed for 12 months.

The replacement, including fitting, only cost £45.

If you have a glass top for your hob, was it properly raised (fully open) ?as many oven/hobs have a cut out device to shut off the gas unless the lid is completely up. I couldn't understand how we had gas at the heater and BBQ but none at the hob until we noticed something under the window stopping the lid from opening the last wee bit.

Also if there is a slight curve in the flexi tube from cylinder to bulkhead reg you may have condensate collecting and stopping supply to all appliances. Turn the bottle a little to take up slack and allow condensate to drop back into the gas bottle..

Try both and see if that is the cause.

We had to have a new regulator fitted on our last van. We found the gas did work intermittently as apparently the regulator builds up with residue and then stops working but will then partially unblock and allows the gas through again but then builds up again causing either a weak or non-existant flame. It only did this over a few days though not over 12 months before gas stopped working altogether. It cost us £50 for call out and fitting of new regulator which was very good.
