Which model are you looking at, and what year? From memory there is a Lunar Chateau 400, 450 and 500 (and possibly a 550 as well?).
We have a Lunar Chateau 400, 2008 model.
The Lunar Chateau caravans were built in Belgium by Chateau Caravans, which was a sister company to Lunar until 2008. They were branded as Lunar for the UK market. It is a fairly basic van, but of good quality and light weight. A few observations based on our van:
- The fixtures and fittings are of good quality.
- As Chateau Caravans are no longer in business, there is no factory support available. However, it sits on a standard Al-Ko chassis, and all the interior equipment (cooker, fridge, toilet, etc) is standard (Thetford, Dometic, Cramer, etc), so there should be no problem with servicing/repairs.
- The waste water outlet is just a rigid pipe under the chassis, rather than a standard outlet socket as used on most vans. Therefore we have to slide the waste tank underneath the van, which can be a problem on sloping ground. It is possible to attach a flexible hose with a bit of ingenuity.
- The earlier vans had a small onboard water tank in the front locker, instead of an external inlet for an aquaroll. Our 2008 van has a normal external inlet. I believe the earlier vans can easily be adapted to use an external water tank.
Overall, I would say they are a good van, especially if you are looking for a lightweight option.
Hope that helps! Any more questions, fire away.

I noticed there's a 2004 Chateau 400 for sale in the classifieds on here at the moment, with motor mover. Might be worth a look. (And no, it isn't mine! ;-) )
The 400 is a nice layout, with two dinettes that convert into two sizeable double beds. Although it's a 4-berth van, it's closer in size to an average 2-berth. The only downsides with the layout are the lack of worktop space (although you can use one of the tables if you need extra space for cooking) and the shower compartment is a bit cramped. There's plenty of storage space, although there's nowhere to stow the tables, so they have to be left standing all the time (and they're quite large!).
