Everything almost sorted for our summer away only problem we can't decide on is were to put the fire extinguisher. Our last van was a 2 berth end kitchen same as this van and is extinguisher was have way down the caravan near the wardrobe. Ok if your asleep in van and there's a kitchen fire but no good if your in the bathroom or awning as you could not get to it. This van has never had its extinguisher wall mounted but I prefair it were I can reach it as I don't bend we'll. so were do most people put there's the cookers next to the bathroom door. So should we put it in a simaler place as the old van near the wardrobe or should it be near the caravan door I can't decide we're the best place is

I'd suggest by the door - your first priority would be to get outside, then, with everyone safely out, and hopefully gas turned off at the cylinder, you might be able to deal with the fire.
I would never rely on just one. Maybe it wouldn't work. Also, there is nothing worse than trying to put out a fire, and being conscious of the extinguisher getting lighter in your hand.
I have one in each room, plus a fire blanket.
Having said that, please only use the extinguishers to get out. No heroics.

Blanket in kitchen area and extinguisher by the door. Bucket outside. If worried get more than one and have each end of van. Smoke alarm probably more important for early warning
We gave fitted a smoke alarm and a cabone monoxiced alarm don't think there's room for a fire blankets and an extinguisher at the kitchen end as the kitchens next to the door

Ours are by the door with the fire blanket above, all within easy reach of the probable source of most fires, the cooker & the gas fire, with another loose in the awning. Totally agree with you Greendemon on the no heroics bit.

Our cookers near the door and we never ever use the fire ( long story but I'm to scared to use a fire in a caravan).
Near the door would be best then, Angel. I had my gas fire taken out and the pipes sealed off (the engineer said it needed condemning anyway). If I'm on electric hook up, I use a small oil filled radiator, if off grid, a hot water bottle and throw!
