Hi All,
Havent been on for a while, as camping had to take a back seat, but our little girl is growing fast and so we have been thinking of getting a caravan.
We went to look at some new one's to get an idea of layouts etc, and we quite like the Bailey GT65 Ancona, as we had never seen the fixed bunks before. But there was never anyway we could afford a new caravan, so when we got home I had a look on the internet and found that the old equivalent was probably a Bailey Senator Carolina, but these appear to go for around £6k - £7k, and realistically we can only afford £3k, maybe £4k at a push.

So my question is - has anyone got any ideas for a caravan with fixed bunks for around our budget, it doesnt necessarily have to be as big as those above - something with fixed bunks and a double bed would suffice.

Thanks in advance

We used to own a 2003 Bailey Ranger 550/6. This had fixed bunks at the back and was a brilliant caravan.

Thanks jonnmedds, I just had a quick look and they dont seem quite to be in our price range (or the one's on ebay dont), but it looks like the type of thing we would be looking at.

Adria Have been doing fixed bunks for quite a while. The bunk sizes are huge both length and width and will normally take an adult

Here is one on ebay

here

You could try and make an offer just under the £4000

or this but may be a bit old for you.

here

or this (looks nice but not sure what it will go for?)

also use caravanfinder as you can search by layout and sort results by price

As above some older ones from early 2000's should have this layout and just within budget but you will be limited I would say at that price

Ones to look out for are Lunar Chateau, Avondale Dart 556, Lunar Zenith 6, Elddis Avante 556, plus many others incluidng a number of German makes like TEC, Burstner and other European ones like Geist and Adria as Wizzo mentioned

I was going to say adria as well

The continental makes tend to have longer bunks that will hold a greater weight. This is the layout we were looking for for years until we decided to go for a large two berth instead

We had a Elddis Avante 556 which had fixed bunks across the back, lots of other makes in this layout as well so I would think you should be able to find something in your price range. We have just changed vans DD is too big for the top bunk now at 15 years old, had been fine for both kids up to this year (DS is 13 and still fitted in the bottom bunk). As others have mentioned I've always found caravan finder very useful.
