Had a problem recently with a leak via the chimney/vent (where the vent goes into the roof)thought we had it sorted. Turned up this weekend and saw a pool under the gas heater. Investigated and found the water coming out of the vent at the junction with the heater exhaust.
The only thing we can think of is that the rain is entering via the chimney, and the only solution is to block the chimney. (we wont be using the gas heater)
Any body else had this issue or can think of any permanent solutions
Any help advice would be appreciated
I strongly recommend that you do not block the chimney. One day you might forget about it and use the gas fire or sell on the caravan and forget to unblock it. Unfortunately you may be held liable for any mishaps. Best is to get it fixed properly as blocking it will make it unfit for habitation.
Many thanks for the advice.
Once the rain stopped investigated a bit more, looks like the water is pooling around the vent then getting in under the rubber seal and then between the metal venting tube and outer sleeve. As someone said never heard of this one.
Loads of flexible waterproof "gunk" and water proof tape (heat shrunk). Fingers crossed it works
