Just had an excellent quote for my Lunar Clubman from a company called Adrian Flux, as advertised on this site. This beats my present insurer by £16 and is £80 cheaper than the CC. Anyone had any dealings with them and would care to comment?
I've been insuring through them for several years now, for the caravan, motorhome and my house and contents. I've always found them very reasonable and very pleasant to deal with. I think they're the only ones who've ever asked if I'm a member of an owners club which I think qualifies you for a small discount.
How long have you been with your present insurer,is it worth changing for the sake of £16,going through all the paperwork, only to find your premium has risen next year,Insurers dangle a carrot to entice new customers, and the following year, take it back.
thanks for this peeps...just called adrian flux...got a good price and not paying for all the bells and whistles that some insurere like to tag on that i dont want or need. And this was with my mega(non-fault) claim last year.
seems perfect for my needs, but I will read the t&Cs fully before i am sure its all good.
One of the things I like about AF is that you mostly don't get charged for stuff you don't have/want. I get a discount for living on a Scottish island; am covered for serious off-roading as part of a rally radio safety team including cover for my radios and mast and Red Cross first aider at no extra charge. It's almost back in that wonderful time in the past when you as the customer were listened to not told!

My husband insured his classic Ford Mexico with them on the strength of a lower quote than previous insurer and wished he hadn't. Basically they took his money knowing all about the car then said that things like bucket seats and stickers were modifications and loaded £50 on to the premium. He had explained the car and any changes on the phone when he got the quote in the first place, but they wanted to charge £25 for a copy of the phone conversation once they received the photos they requested and the agreed valuation report.
I appreciate it's a completely different kettle of fish to a caravan but fwiw that's our experience. Needless to say he won't be renewing with them.
You can't really tell how good an insurance company is just by their quote until you have made a claim with them and that's when they show their true colours of how efficient they deal with your claim regarding the time factor etc. However, I found AF to be rather expensive in comparison to Caravan Guard which was over £30 more per annum plus I also chose Caravan Guard because members on this forum who had made a claim in the past said how good and efficient they were.
I insured my romahome demountable with AF for a few years with no problems, as had no claims - and they were the cheapest. However, a month after I had renewed my insurance for the third time, and paid the whole year up front I had to sell it. They couldn't transfer the policy to another car, and told me I wasn't entitled to a refund. On the T&C's it said I would be entitled to a partial refund, and I pointed it out. They agreed and sorted it out, but after a cancellation charge and other various charges, the partial refund was only approx £15 or £20, so I paid just over £100 for a month's insurance. So watch out if you have to cancel!

We insure our Compass Corona 505 with Adrian Flux.
The list of 'What's Covered' appears to be much more comprehensive with fewer restrictions at premium rates less than those charged by other insurers in exchange for less cover.
We have been with caravan Guard since 1995, we have just had to make a claim as the caravan was stolen, they have taken just 4 weeks from reporting the theft to paying out, I call that good, they have been helpful all the way. I can only relate to how I have been treated and will always recommend them. I have had to claim in the past and have not had the premium load as yet. See what happens this time but it would still take a lot to make me change.
