my last post was about the hassles in getting a pair of wheel covers from Protec Covers.... called again today and OMG just found out that the covers had NEVER been sent at all, despite being given information to the contrary. Their stories over the last 2 weeks were they had been sent but must have been lost, another set was sent Monday be with you tomorrow, and yet ANOTHER set has been sent be with you tomorrow.. Now spoken to the OFFICE MANAGER?? who says she is also head of complaints dept tells me they were out of stock and NEVER sent. She denies that anyone from the Company told me otherwise and wouldn't listen to my complaints. Head of complaints? Don't Make Me Laugh!!!

We had the same issue when we ordered ours earlier this year. The competition that specialises in caravan covers is no better.
Can't understand these companies. It must be harder work making excuses than doing what they should be doing which is selling their products.
All the bad publicity can't be doing them any good.
But on the other hand they have had your money in their bank for some time......

Plus if it is not right they try and weasel out of a refund or replacement stating that the Distance Selling Regulations do not apply as the front cover is "custom" made.
Be very aware!
Shame really as I have found them to be excellent. When my cover got ripped by a careless tradesman they quickly sent me repair patches free of charge.
Yet Protec and Specialised will trog of to all the trade shows where they will continue to take deposits for hundreds of orders that are beyond their capacity to produce and deliver in a prompt and timely manner. Both companies could to with scaling back their order books until they have the infrastructure in place to deliver in a time frame that is acceptable.
You would have thought that with peter Jones from Dragons Den they would have improved but no. The annoying part is they take payment upfront and then decide when they will feel like sending the cover.
I have since found out that you can insist on a delivery date and that they have to supply one once they have taken your money. If they do not make the delivery date, you can request a full refund.
