Camping and Caravanning club sites, what side of the van should you park your car and are there club regulations for this, I have my neighbours car parked by my door and the warden dosen't seem to want to get involved, he told me just to park at my offside but the other neighbours car parks there.
I've been told that you park your car on the left hand side of your van as you look at it, so the other side to where your awning would be. Obviously, you would expect there to be enough room between your awning and your neighbours car, if there isn't then it's up to the warden to sort. Hope you get sorted

If you have a foreign caravan next to you, the door could well be on the drivers side, meaning they need to park on the other side, sometimes.. Always at the C&CC sites I have been on, I have always parked on the offside.
But if there is no room for you on either side, you need to go back to the warden and tell him to sort it out!
I'm trying to work this one out, do you mean your neighbour has parked on your pitch? If he has then either ask him to move or get the warden to do his flippin' job. If he is parked on his own pitch some distance from your door then whats the problem? If there are no marked pitches then I thought there was a regulation distance for caravans to be apart anyway & presumably this one is too close so its for warden to sort out, yes?
This has always seemed daft to me, but the CC say car on one side and awning on the other, daft and put in the simplest terms, because if it's raining you have to walk round your van to get to the door!
However and although I prefer to have my car outside my awning, all must conform to one rule or the other and it's up to the warden to sort it out if someone tries to buck the system.
I did though find a possible good reason for the CC rule?. On our seasonal pitch where we parked next to our own awnings, I once had a neighbour who insisted on parking up close to my van, plus he had no regard for how bloody hard he shut his doors at whatever time of day or night it happened to be!
At least under CC rules, your up against your own van and if you slam your doors at least you are already awake! and not woken up by the noise right under your window!!
There can't be a hard and fast rule that applies to all CCC it must be down to each site because where we stay the rule is caravan, awning, car and it is enforced.
Each new arrival is shown to the pitch and shown where to pitch and park.
C&CC seem to have their own rules as they don't appear to have standard size pitches. CC have adopted car, caravan, awning on all sites which is much better.

My caravan and awning doesn't fit on a standard pitch, as the door is at the back and the awning fixes over the back door, making the length of both together quite long. I understand why the CC car/caravan/awning standardisation has come about, but the CCC have always managed to find me a non standard pitch, as they have equally managed to pitch quite a number of foreign caravanners whose awnings are on the other side to ours.
Dobsonk - did you or the wardens manage to sort it out?
I've only been on 2 seasonal pitches and both were caravan, awning, car. To me that is the sensible way as you can load/unload your car straight into van. As long as there is enough space for your neighbour to access water and toilet the rest is yours.

I agree this is or should be the correct way parking to the left of your van is basically on next doors pitch and if anyone does that to me they will be asked to move.
So the neighbour on my off side has adopted caravan, awning car, then there is my van, then the neighbour on my door side has adopted car van awning. This leaves me with space for van and car but no awning. Its a seasonal and we don't want to upset either side and the warden is trying to keep the peace. Think we will have to play first come first served with the parking and see how that goes. We wont have the awning up much but want to be able to have space to sit outside.
Surely if everyone went the same way there would be no problem regardless if it was car, van, awning or car, awning, van. The problem only really occurs when, like with DOBSONK there is no ruling. It's up to the warden/site owner to lay down some laws and then everyone would be better off.
