Thinking of storing my caravan in France next year.
Can anyone advise me about likely costs, possible pitfalls and legal requirements. I have toured in France for many years but this is a new venture. Suggested storage sites within one days driving from ferry ports would be welcome.
Go to the campsite search page, open the French campsite page ,scroll down to OTHER,and there are lots of sites that do storage, you may have to contact the site owners,or you may be able to google the relevant information

We stayed at this site a couple of years back, great couple own it, very good site. They don't charge for storage if you spend 21 nights with them (Doesn't have to be consecutive) http://www.le-paradis-camping.com/
we stored our van at pors peron its on this web site, its in Brittany its owned by two brits from cornwall who I might add were brilliant we stayed there for two holidays consecutive years brought it home last year just for a change. The caravan is towed out for you and when you go you literally un plug electric close the door and go they tow it to storage awaiting your next holiday.
on your first visit they ask you to walk round the site and give them a few pitch numbers you like and in order and will fit you in the vacant ones they have to your list.
the do local bread and have a small selection of groceries.
when we couldn't pick up tv reception without asking the owner turned up with a sat dish and box fixed it up when we checked out they wouldn't take any money for sat dish excellent service.
I cancelled caravan insurance because its insured on their premises.
they gave us a code to save money off Brittany ferries think we saved almost £100 of ferry and its around 180 miles from st malo
I think storage was around £300 per year which is what we pay in uk plus saved on insurance
