Hi, has anyone got a Sunncamp Ultima Air? I am thinking about buying one but would like to find out if they are any good first.

we had a kampa air 390 which we chose over a sunncamp due to the fact that there was only one inflation point instead of having many. it was faster to erect than the sunncamp and we would of still kept it had we not needed a separate annexe for our growing family. as long as you dont mind blowing up each tube separately you will be ok with the sunncamp.

We had the 390, absolute genius idea and so easy to put up. Seemed strong enough to deal with windy weather, despite being air tubes instead of metal poles, infact I would say it might be better than a metal frame in winduy conditions as it can flex. We had on minor fault when we got it one of the air tubes had a kink in it and was replaced. However, it did have a major drawback, it leaked like a sieve and I'm not just talking at a seam we are talking over the whole canopy. As a result awning was returned and refunded. The shop didn't even argue as they said this was the third one they had back for the same reason. Shame because it is a great concept, hopefully Sunncamp can sort the problem.

Hi, I bought this awning in march 2014 and by the end of October 2014 the roof material had discoloured and started to rip when I took it down. Contacted the company and they said it was not designed to be exposed to direct sunlight for long periods of time. I live in Scotland and you all know how much sun we get. I had it on a seasonal pitch and because of this they refused to give me any compensation. So buy one at your own risk.

Nylon/polyester tent material is usually reckoned to have a total life erected of around 16weeks due to UV degradation whether sunny or not, so as you point out, not suitable for seasonal use but this would apply to any awning of similar material.
