Dropping someone a few quid would invalidate their insurance.
Not if you just cover their fuel costs, invalidation would only happen if they did it for financial gain. Years ago somebody towed us to a site after our car had an engine rebuild and needed to be run in.
And seriously, are you going to say anything if asked? Of course you aren't, you are towing your van for a mate.
You could try asking the local dealers like Derby Caravans or Don Amotts, if they no longer offer the service themselves then they probably would know someone who does.
I agree its a bit of a grey area as far as insurance goes, I know that mine doesnt cover me for towing someone elses caravan, only the one registered on my insurance policy, just been through that rigmarole myself over wanting cover for two different caravans on the same day as we drive down to trade in the old one before picking up the new, it was no where near as easy as trading in a car and swopping the insurance over.

All well and good starting off as a mate, but what it there WAS an accident and the caravan got damaged. would only have 3rd party insurance at best, the owner gets a bit miffed and comes clean that he had paid for it to be moved, leaving the driver uninsured.
Personally, I wouldn't get involved as it has the potential to back fire big time.
The clubs don't allow you to give someone a few quid for pulling a stuck car off a muddy rally field for this very reason.
Like I said, if you just cover fuel costs you invalidate nothing. Towing somebody off of a pitch doesn't cost pounds in fuel and tbh, they are protecting their own arses, not yours.
