I am not a happy bunny today, I went to my caravan this morning to take back the sleeping bags for our holiday in 2wk, when I went to it I thought someone has tried to take it away, the wheel clamp what right under the van and the arm was snapped but still hanging on, the van was pushed back about a ft and the legs were down but not on the bricks where I left it, so I went to the farm house and was told that and elderley couples car had just "Rolled " into mine, they wont be back for a week but here is their number, they said they will pay for any damage but there isnt much, but their bumper was hanging off... They have done more than roll they have run into it at some force and only for the wheel clamp it would have ended up in the brook behind. The farm owner thinks because they are elderley maybe he hasnt hit the brake and the car has shot off.... Now I have to get someone down to check it over at £50 call out plus jobs and all at my cost till they come home, why didnt they get in touch there and then rather then b***** off on holiday, I hope they are having a good time because the bill will ruin it when they get back.....The wheel clamp does look a mess and it is no good now, but its stuck under the van, what damage its done underneath I do know. The steadies are loose too and he has hit the alco lock that may need replacing, but I want a new wheel clamp that is certain... This is the 2nd time have had problems, next door van went off and never came back but whilst he was going off he scraped all the side of my van and there isnt anything I can do. the farm dont want to get involved......

if there's a mobile number, give them a ring, otherwise, if your insured fully comp, pass the details onto your insurer, have it repaired, and get them to sort it out.

either way it might take a while, hope for you its still roadworthy so you can still enjoy your hols :)

Yes I think so snowy, but the good news is Ive had a repair man down who was just brilliant and he managed with alot of sawing and tugging to get the wedged clamp from under the arch and no damage there and the alco lock is fine, so it seems its not too bad, but they are facing a bill for a new clamp, new hitch cover (the other was completely ripped off)and the call out charge and 1 hours work looking about £100 and they have got off very lightly, if the clamp hadnt been on the van would have been pushed down the ditch behind, so just want to get the cash back, not looking to make money just get it back as it was and I will be fine then in feb Ime off somewhere else, it will cost me £100 more but peace of mind is everything, but still cant believe they could still go away I would be so upset that I had done that to someone caravan I couldnt go until had spoken to them directly and It happened fri and I didnt find out until I went at 11 am this morning and had to go to the owners to find out what had happened and thats CASOA Gold registered for you......

Is it worth letting the police know?

Just in case they don't come back, or even deny any doings?

Definitely time to change your storage site.
To be honest, CASSOA Gold means diddly squat. The claims of some of these sites about CCTV and security lighting etc. beggars belief. The inspection of some of these places by CASSOA must be done by a man with a white stick. I'm really surprised the insurance companies fall for this tosh.

I will wait until they return on sun or not as the case may be and then take it from there. We did mention the cctv and was told by the site owner that its only on for 7 days then wiped over, and its only on the main gate not overlooking the caravans, I hadnt heard of CASSOA before until the insurance said I could get it cheaper is the site was registered, to be fair there is a barrier with card and fob and dogs all day and night, you cant get in or out without someone knowing, but from my point of view there is overgrown grass up to the caravans, dog pooh (Infact right infront of my caravan) and it stinks, ive had to poison the grass under and behind my van myself and all this for £300 a year, so will be looking someone else for next year, but ime worried what will happen next and the owner said they are just the site owner and any damage has to be taken up with the persons involved and not them....I wish I could take it off now but I would lose money
