We tried one. Found it to be a complete waste of money. Caravans are designed to be left outside. Dealers leave their stock outside. I wouldn't bother again.
Note added - good point from other members. If I was parking it under trees etc I would use one.

We have a cover, it stopped a the winter weather getting to it. I just left the windows open on the night catch ie. the little 1/4 inch one for the air to circulate. We also use the damp towers and check every month if possible just in case they need emptying they never did. But a good excuse to have a caravan fix as we never use it in winter too hard for a wheelchair user with a small c.van without putting awning up.
When we took out Protec off it was still clean enough to go out with. We will be using it again this winter. On in November early off for end of March or a bit earlier.
But that is us and it worked fine. Very pleased kept clean
Our van is stored by a tree that has pigeons nesting in it, our van is covered after every trip, yes it might be a pain, but have you seen just how much mess they leave. And the van is always clean.
I'm a yes for covers, but I just cover in winter. My van is washed and polished and is tucked up in it's cover by the end of October as I dont do winter caravaning. Come April cover off, inside is checked and freshened up and it's ready to go.
We bought one to keep the damp out of our 15 month old Bailey before we got rid of it. They really are difficult to put on and are a bit pointless. Only useful if the van is kept under trees.
If you roll the front end up to the middle, then roll the back end up to the middle, so you have a sort of double sausage... then throw the whole thing over the middle of the roof, roll down to each end and fit. Much easier to put on.
I have one as I have an old caravan and I think it works well... it also saves me having to wash it in the spring. I stand all the seats upright inside the van, but bring in the two bed seats inside for the winter. I open all the seat locker lids, so that the air can circulate. Never had mould or anything else in there over winter.
The general rule of thumb is + covers for older caravans, no covers for newer vans, I think. And there are usually plenty on ebay at bargain prices.
Hi covers are allowed at my storage yard, Our van is an abbey year 2000, and is very clean and tidy for it age, so I think it might be worth while getting one.
