Had the van since october 2012 - managed to get away for 3 days between xmas and new year, had a week in april, a weekend in June and 14 days in july. In the process of planning trips in August and October 1/2 term.
------------- Caravanning since Oct 2012, been to Lick Penny, Buxton CC, Kendal CC, Black Horse Farm CC, Ashbourne & just got back from 14 days in
France....! :-)
Once a month if we can for a weekend and then a few weeks during the year too, although not the past couple of months as I've not been well, but hoping to get back on track soon :)
------------- "I'm a fool for my dogs"
Adopt a rescue, rescue dogs make great pets, don't support puppy farms.
The road can be tough and rough, but what you put in you get back 10 x more.
We too are retired so can please ourselves. We usually have 2 or 3 trips each year, a total of 3-4 months, but this year is not going to be so good as we were late in leaving on our first trip.
So far we have had one trip of 64 nights, and we have another 16 nights booked in September.
We too are retired, We started this year on the 11th of march (it was -3 D) and carried on through april may and june (31D in Porthmadog) But we are at home now due to caravan being in for repair Damp rear side window due to incorrect fitting of seal in factory 21 grand and it leaks ? Anyway planning next trip middle of august for a month
No where near enough done 7 nights this year on 2 trips and another 7 nights next week, if my wife didn't work weekends we would use it a lot more but I'm just glad in not paying finance on my 'van its sitting on my drive not costing me a penny, oh I almost fogot we did either 3 or 4 nights in February when we was having our boiler replaced as the caravan was warmer
About 5 - 6 months a years spread throughout but with June July Aug the time for long stays away. A few days each month in the winter is great but longer stays when it is sub zero temps are limited by clothes washing facilities and snow and mud conditions.
------------- 'A sure cure for sea-sickness is to sit under a tree'
2011 46 nights, 2012 43 nights, concerted effort in 2013, in two weeks we would have done 45 nights and we've got another 10 booked so far so well on track for nearly 60 this year.
Takes a concerted effort though with work and kids.
We try for a week at Easter, week May bank holiday, 2 weeks in the summer, Part of October half term and weekends.
This year only done 5 nights so far , partly because we had a holiday to Florida at Easter but also cos hubby broke his collar bone a couple of weeks ago, just in time for the Summer holidays so we've had to cancel our trips.
we aim to do a couple of weekends in September and half term in October and the kids were asking about Christmas, but I'm not so sure about that!
Helen
We've been away for 4 nights at Easter (-6 degrees), for 1 night in May at a local site after my parents-in-law had used it for a fortnight, 4 nights in Shropshire in July (32 degrees), 3 nights at Goodwood Festival of Speed in July, 2 nights at the Silverstone Classic in July.
Starting in a week or so, we'll be using it every second weekend to visit a terminally ill family member. It means we can be there, without being in the way, if that makes sense.
------------- 2015 - our 1st year of caravanning with a new baby. Can't wait! :)
