We use our bathroom in the caravan the same as we use our one at home. I empty and clean the cassette and to be honest it really doesn't bother me. I'd rather use my caravan bathroom than ones on site, I know it's clean. No disrespect to site facilities, sometimes it's the people that use them that don't leave them as they found them......... Not the sites fault.

We try to use the onsite facilities in the day, after all we are paying for them, and yes. number two's are banned jn ours too.

We use ours for everything when on Rally's or CL's.
We have tried a few toilet chemicals and also find Elsan Organic the best no smell, chemical or other. Fenwicks spray into toilet bowl before use prevents skidders. Antiseptic wipes around bowl and seat every 2-3 days after emptying.
I think for a lot of people the thought is worse than the deed. Just do it, caravanning will become a lot more adventurous if you don’t have to worry about using your own loo!!

Emptying the loo is a lot more pleasant than picking up warm doggy poo (cold is worse, wrong dog)

Me and the wife are very new to caravanning but one of the big selling points for us getting a caravan instead of buying a new tent was having your own toilet and washing facilitys.

We brought a nice new porta potti so we no whats been in there and it gets it all but it does not bother me emptying it as it all just goes down the hole.

I would guess its better to empty it more often if no2-ing in it especially if warm weather.

Couldn't agree with you more there!! I seriously heave and gag and this is something I have to do regularly in my job! My children's contents must have smelt alot sweeter, lol!!

We have a wee only rule too. There have been times that my five year old hasn't adhered to it as, in her words, 'I didn't know it was coming and I couldn't stop it Mummy!' I obviously don't put enough blue in as I did see the evidence quite clearly. Didn't disturb me though. After having my own children, working with children and owning a horse for many years, there is little to make me think twice.

I use my toilet in the same way I would at home.
I attend a lot of no-facilities rallies and basic CS and CL sites so I have no choice but to use the caravan loo for everything!
I don't have a problem emptying and cleaning it either.

I don't have an issue with emptying it, as that is hubby's job! But I do have an issue with members of my family sitting there with the door open and me listening to the sounds effects while I'm watching telly or washing up. Hence no poo unless it's an emergency policy! Plus we use the facilities for wees, apart from night or if it's raining. Nice bit of exercise stomping over there!

We rally a lot usually on sites with no facilities so we have no option! Use the right chemicals and there is no horrible smell. Remember emptying the toilet is an outdoor job, and as all caravanners know men do the outdoor jobs and women do the indoor jobs!!!

This made me smile and remember my mum . Back in the 50's it was mainly own sanitation required and my mum used to always turn the radio on to mask any sound effects or we had to sing LOL. It was a bit posh using an indoor loo. Before that it was always a toilet tent as it was rare to have a toilet in the caravan.

We use ours the same as we would at home. I usually (Im the wife) empty it daily anyway.
The chemicals keep all smells at bay and the fact is that urine is much more corrosive than a number two......

I always go to the on site toilets.

I just prefer to have more than 1mm of plywood between me and husband when I am on the lav!

We used to let the kids use it, but now they are big enough to go to the public toilets alone.

In fact, we generally use the bathroom for storage??
