Hi all

I'm new to caravans and am looking at 2nd hand 5/6 berths.

This week I've arranged to see an Elddis Avante 475 5 berth (2003).

I'm looking for any stories about these caravans - good, bad & ugly!

Any tips for problem hot spots that I should check on viewing - much appreciated.

Anyone have a good idea of price ranges? I obviously checked similar listings but what would you pay for one of these?

I've just seen a previous thread that discussed cracked and leaky shower trays in the avante. Is this a problem across the entire range?

Would anyone who's experienced this issue recommend avoiding the avante??

You will hear horror stories of all caravans. The best advice is buy what suits you. If you are unsure have an inspection report done by a mobile NCC caravan engineer for peace of mind.

Hi, I'm certainly no caravan expert but we've just bought an advante 475 (2001) and we love it. Had a service when we got it and no problems at all with it other than needed new tyres. No cracked shower tray!!
