This weekend we went away with friends and they 'helped' put the awning up....... they pushed out easy up poles up so hard that they bent the poles, not just a little! It means buying a whole new centre section as all 3 poles were damaged, is there a way of getting them straghtened? We wondered if we could take it to a fabricators or something? Has anyone else tried this? We will struggle to afford a need set.
Thanks

Some help you can do without. A good question and I would like to know the answer myself, sorry not to be more helpful than that but somone will have a proper answer soon, were they alloy or steel?
Once tubing has been kinked it will be very difficult to be able to perfectly straighten it and even if they can be done they will effectively lose their structure and stability as the molucules have been manipulated to a degree which means that in any windy weather they will fracture in exactly the place where they were originally damaged and possibly split. It would have taken a lot of effort and force to damage tubular poles but in all honesty I think that the damaged ones will have to be replaced.
You could possibly cut the damaged section out and insert a solid bar to rejoin it, but probably going to cost more than a new tube. The other option is to have a steel insert turned to press into the tube and replace the damaged section, but that's going to make it as heavy as a steel tube.
